Online Viral Ad Campaign

Objective

  1. To raise online awareness of and engagement with the fish4 “Britain’s funniest accountant” competition using a viral video mechanic.
  2. To drive the maximum amount of traffic to the fish4 competition page

Creative Brief

Extensive freedom to cause a reaction on the subject of “funny accountants”, “Mouth agog”, laughing, “ouch factor” to stimulate the viral effect.

Target

20,000 clickthroughs to the fish4 competition page where a clickthrough is a user arriving at the fish4 competition page having completed the video produced by AI.

Results

The email attracted over 40,000 clicks and over 32,000 of these were unique users.

We created a viral video clip to generate traffic during the October 2006 ABCe auditing period. The clip was based around the “Are you the UK’s funniest accountant” campaign. See a part of it below:
